Who are Community Foundation Wales?
Community Foundation Wales have been supporting charities and community groups across Wales for over twenty years, and working for a Wales with strong, active communities.
Community Foundations are grant-making charities that connect philanthropists with local causes that matter to them.
Community Foundation Wales recognise the important role that community groups and charities have in identifying and meeting the needs of local communities to create equality and opportunity.
The project
Community Foudation Wales were already using Salesforce when Hyphen8 engaged with them, but they were sharing a Salesforce platform with a network of other Community Foundations.
By moving to their own independent platform, they aimed to increase self-sufficiency and flexibiity. They were also keen to remove the complexities that were found in the previous shared solution.
To acheive this, we helped them to leverage standard Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack functionality for donation and development.
We also implemented the form builder software FormAssembly for all online forms. The use of FormAssembly has increased self-sufficiency, and this allowed users to easily launch Covid-19 funding programmes themselves without our input.

The technology is great at automating tasks, reminders and confirmation emails which frees the team up to do things that only humans can do!
We wanted to find a balance - making the most of what Salesforce can do to automate things, while not losing that personal approach for our donors and grantees.
